WE DO NOT HAIL FROM ABRAHAM!
Christ in the Incarnation is to be physically determined; which explains the genealogies in Matthew and Luke, which establishes that He was human, with roots to Abraham (as fulfillment of the promise to Abraham) to show He was of Jewish stock, and with roots to David (as fulfillment of the promise to David) to show that He was of royal stock: the King by human and eternal heritage.
However, Christ in the Resurrection can only be discerned through Scriptures. He must be 'seen' by revelation through the Word, which is why Luke 24:24-26, 36-47 are very important.
Let's develop on this a little more. There is a proclivity to call ourselves 'children of Abraham', and we would have some Scriptural justification: “And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
— Galatians 3:29 (KJV)
So, we have called ourselves children of Abraham because we believed, just like Abraham did. But in truth, do we hail from Abraham? If yes, how so? Scriptures should tell us.
First, let's examine our link to Abraham. It would start in Genesis 12:1-2, where God first promises that "in you shall all the nations of the earth be blessed". Then, God will reiterate this again in Genesis 15 and in Genesis 22. However in Genesis 22, a slight clarification had been provided: “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.”
— Genesis 22:18 (KJV)
So, the blessing was not in/by Abraham, but in his offspring. At first glance, we would believe it was Isaac, the child of promise. And partly, we would be right. But if we said Isaac was the fulfillment of that promise (or the ones before it in Genesis 12 and 15), we would be wrong, because when we get to the Epistles, we see the real picture: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”
— Galatians 3:16 (KJV)
This means that not only was the promise about Christ, it was also a covenant-promise to Christ, fulfilled in the Resurrection. This is what Abraham believed (the gospel), and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Now, since even Abraham had to believe to receive righteousness, how then is he 'our father'? The argument would be then that Jesus came in the Incarnation from his lineage. We see it in Matthew, “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”
— Matthew 1:1 (KJV). And this is because Matthew penned his synoptic for a Jewish audience, to show them how that Christ is the promised Messiah and King, that 'son of David' the Scriptures had been talking about. Paul will reinforce this when he was writing to convince the Jews in Romans 9: “Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.”
— Romans 9:5 (KJV)
What this means is that the link between Abraham and Christ was only in the natural. Just like Christ's link to David. It would apply to Jesus in the Incarnation, as Son of Man. Jesus coming to the earth by way of Israel was the fulfillment of prophecy to the fathers, but even the fathers had to believe the gospel, just like us. This is why Jesus had this interesting conversation with the Jews:
While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
— Matthew 22:41-45 (KJV)
Here, He corrects the Jews and remind them - as He was wont to - of His Deity, even though they didn't believe Him.
This conversation, which is a rendition of Psalms 110:1, would be one of Christ in His Resurrection, exalted, to Whom even David and Abraham would bow. This is why Paul would instruct us thus: “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:16 (KJV)
This means any knowledge of the Exalted Christ that is based on the natural is wrong and will present you a false Christ. Because this Christ is not the Man that walked the earth; this One is the Lord of glory, Hallelujah! How so? Check this out: Romans 1 (KJV)

² (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
³ Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
⁴ And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
⁵ By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
"seed of David (and Abraham) according to the flesh; declared...the Son of God...by the resurrection from the dead"...He was raised back to life as the First Begotten, the First Born from the dead by the Holy Spirit, which is the same way we were born: “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
— Romans 8:29 (KJV)
John tells us our origins: “Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
— John 1:13 (KJV)
The man in Christ does not have a natural lineage. He is born again, from above, after the order of Christ, by the Holy Spirit. Which is why Jesus says, Except you are born again (Grk. gennao anothen, that is, born from above), by water and (Grk. pas, meaning that is, which is, etc) Spirit. We do not hail from Abraham. We are not 'spiritual Jews'. Naaaah, we hail from Christ! And our family tree looks like this...
